The Mu’assasatul Khairiyya Foundation has donated millions of naira to the Organising Committee of the forthcoming Maulud of Sheikh Ibrahim Inyass, scheduled to take place in Katsina on January 17, 2026.
The donation was facilitated by Dr Hajiya Hauwa Umar Radda, former wife of the late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua, on behalf of the foundation, as part of efforts to mobilise financial and material resources to ensure the successful hosting of the annual religious gathering.
A breakdown of the support shows that a leading businessman, Alhaji Dahiru Bara’u Mangal, contributed a cash donation of ₦5 million, while Alhaji Mukhtar Ajiya, Ajiyan Bakori and son of Dr Hajiya Hauwa Radda, donated ₦250,000 to the organising committee.
In addition to the cash donation, Alhaji Dahiru Mangal also provided 50 bags of rice to support the feeding of participants at the Maulud. Dr Hajiya Hauwa Radda further pledged the provision of 100,000 sachets of water to assist with logistics and welfare arrangements during the event.
Speaking while presenting the donations, Dr Hajiya Hauwa Radda, who is also the elder sister of Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, assured the committee of continued support, pledging to provide all necessary assistance to ensure the programme’s success.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Maulud Organising Committee, Sheikh Hadi Balarabe, expressed appreciation to Dr Hajiya Hauwa Radda for her role in mobilising support for the event. He offered prayers for her and Alhaji Dahiru Mangal, asking Allah (SWT) to guide and reward them for their contributions. He also prayed for divine reward and success for Alhaji Dahiru Bara’u Mangal and Ajiyan Bakori for their generosity.
Meanwhile, a delegation representing Hajiya Hauwa Umar Radda, led by her aide, Alhaji Aliyu Talakka, attended the opening ceremony of the National Maulud of Sheikh Ibrahim Inyass held in Katsina.
In a message delivered on her behalf, Hajiya Hauwa Umar Radda urged participants to prioritise the teaching and learning of the Arabic language from the primary school level, stressing that a proper understanding of Islam is rooted in Arabic. She also called on followers of Sheikh Ibrahim Inyass to emulate the exemplary character of renowned Islamic scholars as a means of promoting religious and moral development.
She further appealed to affluent individuals to continue supporting Islamic causes and commended Alhaji Dahiru Bara’u Mangal for his consistent support for Islamic activities. She concluded by urging participants to remember the Katsina State Government, under the leadership of Governor Malam Dikko Umar Radda, PhD, in their prayers.
